Henry Royce meets the Honourable Charles Stewart Rolls at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. A handshake that would define a century of British engineering.
1906
No. 02
The 40/50 hp 'Silver Ghost' debuts. The Autocar declares it 'the best car in the world'.
1931
No. 03
Rolls-Royce acquires Bentley Motors, beginning a partnership of two marques united in pursuit of excellence.
1957

A small gathering of owners in Derby establishes the East Midlands Section of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club.
1982

Section membership doubles as a new generation of post-war cars enters careful private hands across the Midlands.

Over 180 active members across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.
